Unable to establish Connection to the authentication service. Contact Technical Support.



Issue

Error occurs when connecting to Azure DST Sync tool : Event log as follows

Unable to establish a connection to the authentication service. Contact Technical Support. GetAuthState() failed with -2147186688 state. HResult:0. Contact Technical Support.  (0x80048862)

Solution:

This issue issue is caused due to an "Authentication proxy". 

Try bypassing the proxy during the installation of AADSync and it should do the trick for you. 

The server can be configured again to use proxy after installation.

***Also, Make sure Firewall is allowed for Port 80 & 443***

    We are experiencing the same issue. We tried bypassing the proxy as much as we can understand, but it has not helped us.
    Can you please advice further

    Thanks for posting here.!

    Be make sure proxies are bypassed, also verify Global admin credential & try with another GA admin creds to see if it works, If not clear the DNS cache in the AD DNS service & restart the internal DNS services again.
