Office365 Connector - Chapter 2


In last chapter I have discussed about Outbound Connector & Some real time scenarios. In this chapter I will sharing the information about Inbound Connector & Powershell commands:

Inbound Connector: 


Your Organization's Email Server - Is to accept mails from On-Premise server

Partner Organization : Is to accept mails from Third Party servers (or) from Partner Organization.

TLS - Transport Layer Security 

To enable TLS you need TLS certificate from trusted CA Authority & Configure the connectors to Force TLS, doing this if the connections were made using Non TLS wouldn't be accepted & mails will be moved to deferral queue & be expired in 2 days.

Powershell Commands:

We have below commands to configure connectors within Office365.

  • Get-InboundConnector                                                                     
  • Get-OutboundConnector                                                                                                      
  • Get-OutboundConnectorReport                                                                                          
  • New-InboundConnector                                                                                                       
  • New-OutboundConnector                                                                                                  
  • Remove-InboundConnector                                                                                                   
  • Remove-OutboundConnector                                                                                                        
  • Set-InboundConnector                                                                                                                
  • Set-OutboundConnector                                                                                                              
  • Validate-OutboundConnector (New Command Released to Validate)
Validate-OutboundConnector:



Validate-OutboundConnector -Recipients "user@domain.com" -Identity "Outbound Connector Name" -ConnectorType <TenantConnectorType> {OnPremises | Partner}
