Recently I came across with an issue where user cannot create Shared Mailbox with "Display Name : Help Desk", Below I am updating the cause of this issue & the resolution.
The name "Help Desk" is already being used. Please try another name.
For some reason, Shared Mailbox Properties referring to the name of the Admin Roles, Listed under permissions. This doesn't happen only for Help Desk, It also happens for Hygiene Management, Recipient Management etc, Example snap below:
There are 2 options to resolve.
Method : 1
- Create a User Mailbox with "Help Desk" as display name (or) any name matches with the admin roles.
- Convert that as Shared Mailbox
Method : 2
- Create a Shared Mailbox with the Different name, Example : Help Desk1
- Re-name it to "Help Desk"
